Neto/Maropost API GetOrder HS Codes

Recent disruption to international trade has placed an increased emphasis on the need to provide product HS and Origin Country data against products when shipped internationally. Whilst there are some exceptions where free trade agreements exist, it would see a safer option to provide this data regardless of destination, or FTA.
As a NETO/Maropost user, we choose to use Starshipit as our preferred carrier management software. Unfortunately, the nature of the API call provided by Maropost (GetOrder) does not lend itself to providing this data, even though their data schema provides for the storage of such information against the product code. We have been in contact with Maropost to see if this is a roadmapped addition to the GetOrder API call, however they have advised that this is not on the immediate radar.
To circumvent, we have modified our own API call that nests a GetItem call within the GetOrder call so as to return HS and CoO codes as stored against the order line SKU.
In the absence of this as it currently stands within Starshipit (courtesy of a Maropost shortcoming in our opinion), do you have any suggestions as to how I can manage/populate/map this data outside of the manual intervention we must currently do? We are happy to share our own modified "nested" API call if that aids in any way?
