Carton/Outer SKU for Pick & Pack App

We have many items that are sold individually and in cartons/outer units. Each have a separate barcode so it would be good to scan the outer (carton) and it would update the Indvidual item with a certain carton quantity. For example, 1 x carton of 10 widgets when scanned would update the widget to equal a quantity of 10 in the app.

This has now been addressed by the addition of GS1 barcodes.

I have had a test of it tonight and it is functional on my devices.
Big thank you to the Starshipit team for introducing this, will be testing and flagging any highlights or opportunities.

Spare Egret: Thanks for the feedback! Please do let us know if we can make any improvements. We may still introduce support in our product catalogue for specifying different UoM's for those not using GS1 but I am glad we have killed two birds with one stone here

Jordan Andreassen Thank you.
I have not been able to test properly as we are waiting on marketing and new labels so no further feedback on that front, however;
I would like to ask if it would be possible to enable scanning gs1 on the web interface, we have a mix of pc and scanners and we use the pc for wholesale orders, which require the gs1 barcode as it stands currently, until we add batch/exp/etc to our individual products.
I would also like to distinguish between expiry and best before in the gs1 AI matrix. When gs1 was launched, your blog post (https://feedback.starshipit.com/changelog/mobile-app-gs1-barcodes) stated that orders could be tagged with expiry, assuming that is mapped to AI 17. We use best before in our business and are wondering if AI 15 could be added to be able to be tagged or have 15 and 17 in one so to speak.
That being said, I think there is still a use case in adding the ability to have 2 barcodes be assigned to one sku in the product catalogue, particularly when barcode changes happen, to help support efficient scanning or products with different sub variants that fall under the same main SKU.

Spare Egret: Hi there, I have just enhanced the app to tag with the following from the GS1 barcode:
- SSCC (00)
- Batch Number (10)
- Expiration Date (17)
- Serial Number (21)
- Production Date (11)
- Best Before Date (15)

Absolutely need this. We are trying to migrate to PDTs for our pick pack process and it takes forever scanning x12 otherwise hitting marked as packed defeats the safeguard barcode scanning provides. I can't imagine it to be too outlandish to implement in the product catalogue as an additional data field but there might be other moving parts at play that might prevent this? We do not want to have to create 100s of additional skus just for our B2B customers and deal with the inventory movement nightmare that would create. No WMS or shipping provider in the OCE market that I've seen offers something like this in a modern format.
