The purpose is to automate bulk process, to avoid manually sending email with PDF return label attachment to the receiver one by one, and to minimize receiving unnecessary calls from the customer/receiver requesting customer-service team to download/reprint the return label for the receiver when they need it, so that the receiver can print the return label by themselves.
Also to reduce 1 step of printing the return label for the customer when operations team processes the return order at the fulfillment center, for orders which does not have or require a outbound parcel (replacement unit), where they only require the defective item to be sent back from the customer via a return label.
For these reasons, they require the URL of return label field to be in the email notification template.
